I'm presenting a LeanIn session for the Institute of Architects in August

The Institute recently contacted me and asked me to present a LeanIn session, a free online training and Q&A session for members (which they launched as part of their Covid-19 response).

I think these LeanIn sessions are a great initiative so naturally, I accepted! For the past few weeks, I’ve been putting together a brand new training session called Architecture Marketing 360: How to get a helicopter view of what’s working.

The session is online on Tuesday 4 August and you can book your place via the link above.

It’s designed to help architects work out the best communications and marketing methods and tools to use to promote and market their practice. There are so many options today, it can be difficult to know which channels provide the best value and results.

I think you’ll find it helpful if you’re currently unsure about:

  • which channels - awards, email, publishing, etc - deliver the best results;

  • which platforms - Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc - you should focus your energy, time and money; or

  • how to get a clear picture of what’s working in your marketing, or which elements to tweak, to bring in new clients.

I’ll show you how to get a helicopter view of what’s delivering results - using analytics and metrics from the platforms you’re currently active on.

And I’ll recommend the six most effective channels for architects, and explain how to use them to build connection and engagement with future clients.

Once you have your helicopter view of what’s working (and what’s not!) – based on your own data and results – you can finetune your marketing activities going forward, to attract more of the kind of projects you’d like to work on.

The session is based on my Marketing Metrics tracking spreadsheet, which you can use to record your current benchmarks and progress updates. Paying attention to all these moving parts will help you obtain the clarity you need to move forward confidently.

You can download the spreadsheet free at this link, to make sure your Google Analytics is set up correctly ahead of the LeanIn session.

And then watch the recording on the Institute’s website (it’s free!).

And if you’d like to learn more about the Six Channel System and how to implement it within your practice, you can take the Architecture Marketing 360 CPD course. You can find out more and enrol in the self-guided program here. (Edited on 28 Feb 2024).
